URGENT VC is a venture development company dedicated to building great companies for green cities.
We are based in Boston and New York City and our focus is on early stage/pre-revenue ventures, university/corporate R&D spin-outs and helping municipal systems improve their energy, waste, cash flow and net-gain. We do this by helping secure the proper financing from the appropriate sources, along with strategic counsel. We stand by our ventures for the long haul, not just the deal because we believe that building great companies with great people takes time to get the best return.
We are aligned with the Green City Accords/UN Agreement of Mayors and our venture-backed enterprises are each dedicated to making cities sustainable. Our initial focus is on energy, waste, water and transportation opportunities facing cities and municipalities.
Our sustainability measures of success include strong investor return, environmental improvement, social justice and green job creation. Our experience with raising capital, clearing regulatory hurdles and managing growth companies allow us to turn great ideas into great companies for green cities.
Our Approach
Social and environmental sustainability is often considered to be a virtue that must be balanced with profitability in a successful business. Our team brings a wide range of experience in venture creation, including urban policy, law, international growth, and fundraising from a variety of sources. Our affiliation with Boston area universities keeps us up to date with the cutting edge thinking in a variety of fields, from renewable energy technology to waste management policy. As entrepreneurs ourselves, we've been through the pain and exhilaration of venture creation, and are aware of the vital importance of good partnerships for success. URGENT VC was conceived as a way of providing some of the most important urban technologies and ideas with the assistance that they'll need to become a part of our daily lives.
